How to add protein powder to hot coffee or tea

Mixing protein powder with a hot liquid will lead to clumping, an unpleasant texture, and a reduced ability of the protein to dissolve properly. Adding protein correctly to your hot drink helps preserve the protein's structure and makes for a smoother, better-tasting beverage. Our favorite ways to add it are below. 

OPTION 1

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • 1/4 cup cold or room temperature water or a milk of your choice 

METHOD: 

  1. In a protein shaker, shake protein powder with water or milk until combined. A whisk can also be used.  
  2. Pour into your hot coffee or tea and stir. 

OPTION 2

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • 1 mug of cold or room temperature water or a milk of your choice 

METHOD 2:

  1. In a protein shaker, shake protein powder with water or milk until combined. 
  2. Heat the protein mixture using a milk frother, pot or microwave. 
  3. Add a shot of coffee.
