Protein Jello Snack Bites

A simple, easy-to-enjoy high-protein snack

Getting enough protein throughout the day can sometimes be challenging — whether you are living an active lifestyle, focusing on recovery, managing a reduced appetite, or using GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic®, Wegovy®, or similar therapies that may naturally lower food intake. Small, convenient protein snacks can help make meeting daily protein goals easier.

These Protein Jello Snack Bites are a light, refreshing option that can be enjoyed anytime. They can be made with regular or sugar-free gelatin, and provide both whey protein plus a small amount of collagen protein from the gelatin itself. For extra flavor, a light sprinkle of cacao powder adds a naturally bitter note that pairs perfectly with the sweetness of chocolate-strawberry gelatin, creating a balanced chocolate-berry taste.

Prep time: 5 minutes
Set time: 2-4 hours
Servings: ~12–16 small bites

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (3 oz) box gelatin (strawberry or preferred flavor)
  • ¾ cup boiling water (less water can be used for a firmer bite)
  • ½ cup cold milk (for extra protein) or cold water
  • 1–2 scoops whey protein powder, we used TAHA Chocolate Whey Protein Isolate
  • Optional: silicone molds or small shot cups
  • Cacao

METHOD

  1. Add gelatin powder to a mixing bowl.
  2. Pour in ¾ cup boiling water and whisk until completely dissolved.
  3. In a protein shaker, shake protein powder with cold milk (or cold water) until smooth.
  4. Slowly whisk the protein mixture into the gelatin mixture.
  5. Pour into molds or small cups.
  6. Refrigerate 2–4 hours until set.
  7. Optional: lightly sprinkle with cacao powder before serving for a subtle chocolate finish.

NOTES

Gelatin is derived from collagen, so these bites provide a small amount of collagen protein along with the whey protein added to the recipe. Using milk and 2 scoops of whey will increase the total protein content per batch, creating a higher-protein snack that remains light, portion-friendly, and easy to enjoy throughout the day.
